that puppy fluff coat won't usually last.

a standard yorkie coat is silky and lies very flat. if cut short, they often look like small cairn terriers, but usually only retain that ruffly puppy look if their adult coat comes in cottony (which is considered a flaw in the showring, but some people like it) and you keep it cut about that length.

I think as you grow with your pup you will discover you like a great many things, even as they change, so....be patient...you may find you like the longer coat on your dog.
