hair types on yorkies are a tricky thing.

the breed standard is very silky, flat hair kept long. Now, since you aren't showing (I assume) you can get a variety of hair styles from "puppy cut" to terrier like, or keep him "in coat" and long.

It is very dependent on the hair type. If he has a silky coat, pouf will probably NEVER be in your future. only a fluffy or cottony coat (which is not standard, but lots have it) might be puffy if kept relatively short.

so, figure out what kind of hair your boy has and pick his hairstyle from there....you may want to check out some of the albums on YT or google it.

also, their puppy coat is often different from their adult coat, and I wasn't sure how old he was.
