If you put your photos in iphoto, just click on the photos you want to resize, go to file click on export, there it will ask if you want full size or scale, I scale the images (usually 900 for the width x whatever the other number turns out to be). Then click format and click on jpeg, then hit export and then save it to desk top. I know this forum requires a certain size. If you right click on the pic on the desk top and go to get info you can see what the size is. If it isn't small enough, go back to iphoto and redo the save, just make is smaller.

I do it this way too. So simple. I always just hit custom and type in 600. Never an issue. Very uncomplicated.
