Since I read the original message, I have been putting apple cider vinegar into my dogs water dishes. Here's what I have noticed: for the English Cocker - there has a been a noticable reduction in gunk in her eyes; for my Yorkie - I hardly see anything that I would consider gunk; and for the Maltese, I'm not seeing a lot of tears that discolor her fur. In other words, for my dogs, it works. Thanks for the apple cider hint.
