Taffy vomited as we drove into the driveway after getting her rabies shot. (A couple of months prior to that she had ridden 7 hours home from the breeder's without getting sick. The vet's was less than a mile from home.)

However, she vomited twice on our trip back to the breeder's to board her for our trip. We wanted to board her where she would feel "at home" and treated as family. (Plus, it gave her an opportunity to reunite not only with her first human mom and dad, but also her canine mom and dad and at least one sibling.)

Our breeder explained the vomiting in a way that made total sense to me. She said that Taffy was picking up on our nervousness. Whether that's the whole picture or not, it makes alot of sense in our situation. I was apprehensive before the rabies shot and very sad/nervous about leaving her for our trip. The day before we left to take her for boarding, I was silently crying as I typed an email to someone about boarding her and she jumped up into my lap, laid down, and started licking my arm as I typed.

She had never done that before. It was her way of comforting me, I think. I have no doubt she tuned into my attack of nerves prior to her rabies shot, too. She is quite sensitive and intuitive...and did I mention that she is also very, very smart? (Plus, she's beautiful and has just the right amount of mischief in her personality to keep us from getting bored. I suppose there's no need to mention we haven't made the trip back to get her yet and I am missing her terribly.)
