Yes this is correct and we see a dermatologist BUT on that note NO VET or specialist i have gone to has been great with nutrition as they do not learn this in vet school as they take one class held by HILLS so when it comes to nutritional aspect you are best to consult a nutritionist. I have joined several nutrition groups on yahoo to learn more about it -- food is such a big component in dogs health and sad more vets do not further educate themselves on it when they get out of vet school
