Okay, I'm kind of a technical geek

I
love new things... cameras/laptops, etc. I'm a college student currently still living at home. I love good quality pictures, love taking pics of my dogs, my brother, my sis, my cousins, etc. I'm looking to get the
Canon Rebel XS . It's available on an eBay site for $468 right now brand new, and they do take returns after 7 days (reg. price nearly $600) I have enough in my account right now to get it and still have plenty left over and be comfortable and pay my bills (car insurance, cell phone, etc)
However.... I really have been wanting a Macbook Pro for a long while now. I've got a $200 gift card to Apple as well as -$100 for my college discount. But I'd still be spending over $900 for a Macbook Pro. That would pretty much drain me currently and I wouldn't have much left over and would have to be tighter w/ my money for a little while. So I cant get a Macbook either way for a couple months. I'm currently making approx. $100-$150 a week dog-sitting, and will be starting work at a hair salon next week. So it's not like I don't have some sort of an income and will be making $$$ back. I'm just sooo bad at spending my money LOL. I feel so good knowing I have $$___ amount in the bank yet I want so many things

I could also probably sell the cameras I have now either to someone on YT or on ebay or something. It's actually a really good camera (Canon sx110) but of course... I want better! lol. Also, I'm trying to find out if an slr will be a pain to carry everywhere. The Rebel is actually not THAT big, which is why I like it.
Should I .....
a) be smart and continue saving money to get my Mac laptop in the next few months and no camera?? Or b) should I get myself a dSLR camera now and still have plenty of money left in my account to "rely" on and just forget about the Mac until Christmas time?? or c) just not buy anything considering I don't NEED either of these things but they would make me happy
