I'm less concerned about the nipping than what you said about your 3 year old
Pups and kids can be great together but if like what you said is true you have a disaster in the making
If your little is "torturing" your pup ... and I know he or she isn't Actually torturing your pup
but if your child is constantly picking the pup up and carrying it around
it might defensively be nipping because its becoming afriad
..... Take a gander at this "play" and see if it's ok
also yorkies can be very fragile when it comes to rough play too
