Well, it's over, and I failed miserably. Here's what happened:
* First, I couldn't find the clip/bow/or whatever it is that Kelly's been putting in her hair, and she didn't answer her phone at work.
* Then I stopped at the grocery store on the way and got a couple different kinds of rubber bands and some tiny clips.
* I got to the studio 10 minutes early and started working on her, but her hair wasn't long enough and I couldn't get the band tight enough. Either that or my my stubby fingers were not up to the task.
* After 8 minutes, I gave up, but I looked down and the hair on her forehead was sticking STRAIGHT UP, all staticky! She looked like she'd been hanging upside-down all night!
* I brushed and combed and licked and finally got it to stay down, so she was her normal shaggy self.
* The good news is, she didn't have to do anything. I just held her and got her to look at the camera, and I was able to pull her hair back enough so her face showed. I also had her do a couple tricks, and they oohed and ahhed over that. So maybe it will come out after all.
* I suck at this Pageant Dad stuff.
