Hello, I'll try and help.....

Quite a few peopl on here swear by Cowboy Magic, it's a tube of a slick feeling silicone type product. I tried it myself but found it a little thick....I came across this silicone type spray at Walgreens and WalMart called Hask Pure Shine (it's a human product), I like it better because it's a soft mist and easier for me to use.....It looks like this.....

A lot of people also use a Slicker Brush, it's good for working out the mats. Just start at the bottom and work your way up after using either Cowboy Magic or Hask.....

I used to take a pair of small pointed scissors and I would carefully insert one blade into the mat and do a gentle sawing motion working from the skin out to the bottom. It worked real well for me. It sure beat cutting a mat out and having a bald spot.....

This is Cowboy Magic.....
