Default Hubby says no to another Yorkie

I really want to get Toby a new friend. He is 6.5 months, and loves other dogs. I think he would really benefit from another dog in the house.

I would be getting another one for Tobys benefit rather than mine. I get enough fun from Toby, but dont think its fair on him to be an "only child"!

Hubby thinks i am being silly - "he's just a dog".

He doesnt have to do anything with Toby - I walk him, feed him, play with him, clean up after his wee accidents. Now dont get me wrong, hubby is really attached to the dog, and the dog loves him, and knows that hubby= fun & chicken!

So another one isnt going to be any more work for hubby, but he just says no this time.

He wants us to start trying for a family, but I am not ready yet, but I think that is an even bigger reason to get another dog. It is inevitable that when we have a baby, there will be less time for Toby. At least if there was two of them they could entertain each other for a while.

Any suggestions??

He is already annoyed that I went against his wishes and rang a breeder about one.
