The rabies challenge studies are almost finished with the 2nd year, and we have a budget shortfall of $76,000 for the 3rd year's budget, which is due at the end of November or the studies will end. So, we're busy trying to raise funds in an economic downturn.
Last year was a good year, though, we were able to successfully petition Wichita, Kansas; Cheyenne, Wyoming, and the States of Alabama, Arkansas, and Rhode Island to adopt the 3 year rabies protocol which has become the national standard. Now all 50 states have adopted the 3 year protocol! Good news for the dogs and cats. |
It is so tough right now to raise $$$ for anything and the sad part is that if people understood how much $$$ could be saved in the long run with not having to give rabies shots they would donate. It also could save their dogs life.
I am very interested in this as I belong to a Biewer club (BAPPC) and we are concerned about issues with auto-immune in these dogs. I hope you can raise enough $$$ to help finish this study.
