Debra--the dog she is referring to is a chocolate Yorkie.
To the OP, yes, AKC DOES recognize your dog and will allow you to regsiter her. She does not however, meet the breed standard and would not allow her to be shown in AKC events. There is a big difference--one that you should have a very clear understanding of
before you consider breeding.
She is a lovely pup--what pup isn't adorable. However, non-standard color aside for the moment, you have no idea how she will develop as an adult and at this way you have no way of determining if she will make quality stock. Please understand this, generally, breeders not breeding to meet the standard and using the alternate registries, such as APRI that you have mentioned, are the types of breeders people are warned against. Those are two very big red flags that people are warned to look out for when considering breeders. You would be placing yourself in that category. Just something to think about.
