 line breeding
In short, not a good idea at all.... However, none of the pure breeds would look or act as they currently do without linebreeding. Line breeding will also continue to change each breed insuring that particular genes are replicated. That said, prior to even considering in-line breeding, you must have a firm grasp on genetics. I don't just mean a bit of knowledge via the internet, but a firm understanding of genetic strands (i.e. every dom / rec gene in your foundation). I suggest you being with Malcom Willis and read his work over and over again. Although line breeding can produce awesome traits, it can also exaggerate traits unwanted traits. |
