I have always wondered this. You know when your dog (or cat) lifts their head and wants you to scratch their jaws? What kind of scratch are they looking for? Do they just want their jaws rubbed, or should you use your nails? Light pressure or medium pressure? Chin, jawline, or where the jaw meets the neck?

I feel kind of silly asking this, but I have wondered since I was a little kid. I feel like whatever I do, it isn't right, because the animal moves away.
