I meant their doggy stairs at the foot of the bed ... if I had REAL stairs, they'd be running their little legs off (come to think of it, mine too!). "Their" stairs are 5-steppers; they can run up/down them so fast, you hardly see their little legs moving. So, they ensure that I'm safe and going to be there for awhile (I know, TMI

), then they run up their stairs to the bed and sprawl out until they hear the toilet flush. Then they perk up, run to the bottom of the bed and wait to see what I do next before they run down the stairs to follow me.
There are times I would swear they're perpetual motion engines ... and then they collapse and snooze like rocks
