I usually feed Mooney abt 5 to 6 pm (1c.) and she poops shortly after. This was her schedule from her breeder since around 5 months (only once a day) although most people say they shld eat twice a day 1/2c. each; i went ahead and kept the same schedule as she recommended. She has done pretty well w/ this and she snacks all day on biscuits ect..

I have also read they cannot hold their bladders until atleast 6 mo (which is why he goes in crate), so if i were u i would feed earlier so he can poop before bedtime unless u jst can't possibly do that--(like u aren't home yet).

Typically dogs will toilet 20 to 40 minutes after eating, so feeding your dog then walking 30 minutes later might be a good place to start.
