I think Royal Canin is a good food. I use it to wean puppies (the Baby Dog variety) because it is good quality and the small triangular shape reduces the chance for choking. As long as your dog tolerates grains, I think it is a fine food. There are some purists that will recommend a star or two higher, but I think this one will give you nice, healthy pups with a good coat.

As soon as mine are old enough to leave the play yard, they go on Canidae because it is an All Life Stages food. I have a puppy, two in between, and one very old dog. They free feed so it is important for me to have a food they can all share. If not for that, I would probably stay with Royal Canin. None of mine have shown signs of grain allergies.
