Thanks for your support. I do however think the comment "Bandit will catch on fast" is a mute point, that "fast" ship has sailed! I had him for over three weeks before I saw any improvement. I truly think his being at the breeders in an Xpen (inside the house)on a tile floor, with the potty pads for 4 1/2 months is what caused him to be confused about where to potty. All he knew was to potty on the pads, so my carpet looked like a big potty pad to him, and of course he had a potty pad in the crate at night, "just in case". He wouldn't go outdoors because he thought he was supposed to go indoors, that's all he knew, so he thought that's where it should be done. It will take a long time to reverse his thinking totally, but at least we're on the right track now, I think. Every time he potties outside is one more step in the right direction. Yeah, Bandit probably could vacuum & fix dinner after watching me do it all weekend, maybe I should strap my DH to my chest and he could learn too!
