I would keep him in the carrier until he began to squirm and then I'd take him outside, he would potty right away, I treated and praised him let him have 10 minutes free run in the house with the others, then back in the carrier.
It taught him a couple of things I think: Go right away, instead of holding it in while in the yard, and waiting to get inside to potty, because you're not going to get the chance to potty inside, and by the time I took him out of the carrier, he was about to bust! He also learned the sooner he potties outside, the sooner he gets to play inside.
It was a long, tiring weekend but I feel like we made some forward progress finally! Bandit also knows how to vacuum now and fix dinner as he had a ringside seat to everything!LOl | It is a lot of work to train them. I think Bandit will catch on fast. The last comment about him knowing how to vacuum and fix dinner had me in stitches! I always tell my husband that Zeus can take over for me because he watches my every move! Best wishes and keep us posted on his continued success. |
