EVO is very high in protein, many dogs do very well on it, and I've read a few stories of dogs having issues.
I think if you're going to feed a food with 42% protein, they should probably be pretty active. I feed a 35% protein food (Nature's Variety) but Jackson is a pretty active 12.5 lb dog. If they're consuming that much protein, from what I understand, they also need to burn it off. I'm probably not explaining this well.
