Default Is it too soon for another Yorkie?

Hi

I would like a playmate for Toby. Is is 6.5 months, is pretty well trained, though his housetraining has lapsed slightly the past few weeks but I think it is because his teeth are bothering him.

Anyway, he loves other dogs, and I would love to get another puppy for him. I was thinking when he was about 9 months or so at the earliest, so that I could make sure he had no bad habits to pass to the new pup.

Toby is a cryptorchid, so we will get him neutered at a year old, on the vets recommendation. I am undecided between and male and female but that is another story.

His aunt has just had pups, 5 bitches, and they would be ready at end of November/start of December. I really dont know whether to enquire, or if Toby is too young, or whether to get another male - I am really undecided this time, but I do think there comes a stage when a dog gets too old to introduce another one into the house.
