Default Indoor/Outdoor potty training techniques

Hi,

I need some help training my little boy to go indoors on his faux grass. He is getting pretty good at going outside to do his business but while I'm at work and during the winter months, AND TO ELIMINATE HIM USING MY RUGS AND FLOORS, I would like to train him inside as well.

He uses the Potty Patch for urine while I am at work and he is confined to a small part of the laundry room, but he never goes in there if he is not gated inside - he just uses the rugs or floor. His favorate spot is the stairs. I have cleaned my carpet more times then I can count.

Does anyone have any suggestions for duel training. Should I have several grass pans in the house? I have brought him to the fax grass when I know he has to go out but he runs right off - then I take him outside and he goes. I know he hates the cold and wet - he stands there and cries and shivers. HOW DO I GET HIM TO USE THE GRASS MAT AND GET HIM TO REALIZE HE HAS TO GO AND GO FIND HIS MAT TO PEE OR POOP?

Thanks.
