i have never heard of waiting for 1 year for the rabies. all dogs need the rabies when they are puppies. you can wait until they are six months old if you want. i got my apple's rabies when she was 5-6months and she was just fine. didn't even phase her. the lymes shot is optional. i didnt' get it for apple either because she is not outside that much. i would say deff. get the rabies by six months and wait on the lymes until she needs it, if she ever does.
