I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to attach my photos! I'm soon to be a new Yorkie owner and want to make sure I'm making a good purchase!
I did find a good and caring breeder but she has several little girls to choose from.
I'm to go and meet this little girl above (and see the others) and wanted to get any opinions about what I can expect. She is 6 weeks old and I want nothing more than a cute, sweet little family member. I don't particularly want a teeny tiny yorkie - because we have a 15 lb Westie - but I don't want the world's largest Yorkie either.
Is there any way to tell at 6 weeks if she will be in the standard size range? (Which I understand to be 7-8 lbs). Which would be perfect - Ringo is intimidated by dogs bigger than him.
Any thoughts on what her coloring might be? Black/tan is my favorite and she seems to be black/tan. For some reason, I thought she would have more hair . . but maybe this is just what a 6 week old puppy looks like.
I've been reading these forums for months trying to decide if I am up for handling two dogs (and a 14 y/o son). I've finally decided to add a female and am so worried about . . . everything! Whether or not they will get along; which puppy to choose . . but I've been wanting a Yorkie for a long time; I let my son choose his puppy - our 3 year old Westie, Ringo. And I love Ringo to death but now I get to pick his companion . . and it's going to be a cute little Yorkie. I think she looks mighty sweet but . . I'm no expert on Yorkies at all.
Any opinions welcome. Is this what a six week old Yorkie should look like?
Sorry for the rambling. I'm excited and nervous too about meeting her tomorrow.
