i feel lucky to have you guys. i never get the rat comment from strangers, but my whole family even the extended people say that all the time. i call her "rat dog" myself so it doesn't matter much to me, but i totally feel you on them not having a clue what they are talking about which is why i'm trying to get a job as a trainer there and teach the good stuff to people from my own personal perspective. i just hope that i will make a little money if i work there full time in something. but then again i may not want to, who knows.
i do hate pushy people which is why i partly don't like my job, i'm a community outreach intern for a parks dept. and my bosses want to hijack other people's events and fairs and take a booth with parks fliers to them. i don't like bugging people who only want a corn dog and some good music and handing them fliers they don't want. so i have been going with Sadie and they come up to me that way and then after cooing over her, they finally look at the maps and trails and take a flier when they want one. i usually put her in a crate on the table which attracts attention but keeps grabby and sticky kids away from her!
my biggest pet peeve about my dog is that fact, the grabbing and touching and bugging her that they do because she's so little and cute. i hate when little kids bug her, i hate when grubby hands touch her and i hate that most people don't ask to touch her, i ALWAYS ALWAYS ask a dog owner if i may greet their dog before i do so. some doggies have to be out for things but like Sadie don't have all their shots yet and i don't want others touching her, but sometimes when she's already been home all day i don't want to leave her there while i'm at an event all evening so she comes with in crate.
anyways i just ranted too! sometimes we need that...here's to you my dearest friend:
