I used masking tape. They are not taped together. You only do that if they flop foward even after being taped. If that happens, put a strip of tape across the top of the head connecting each ear so that they stand. You'll actually want to use 2 peices of tape, one in the front of the ears and one in the back. It's extra reinforcement and it covers up the sticky side of the tape. I'll see if I can dig up another picture with the ears taped together. Some people call this kind of taping a bridge.
