Good thought. I'm not a big sewer, proficient with basic mending (buttons, a torn seam, etc.) but do not have a sewing machine. Mom does though. Will have to give it a try. I can see that certain fabrics will be easy to handle. However I have a few sweaters that are knit and I am not sure how they would fare once cut --- would re-hemming will be successful? Or will they unravel?

It's just frustrating when you spend $$ on clothes and then have to take the additional time to rework them...they should just cut the tummy areas short in production!
