From what I have researched at Disney (we go several times per year, also), if you board your dog at the kennels located at the TTC (or Transportation & Ticket Center for those who don't speak Disney! ), Epcot, and Fort Wilderness the caretakers at the kennels will walk your dogs twice and feed twice daily, but at Animal Kingdom and Disney Studios the guests have to walk. I'm thinking the reasoning on this is because of the proximity of the TTC (which is the "hub" to travel to MK), Epcot (which has several deluxe resort hotels in its "area"), & Fort Wilderness (which has the campground) kennels to the Deluxe resorts and the more popular parks.

Here is a link to Disney's website that talks about the kennels. Pet Care Kennels | Walt Disney World Resort

Here's what they say:

Kennel fees are per animal, per day. Overnight boarding is also available. At the Transportation and Ticket Center, Epcot Theme Park and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground locations, the rate includes 2 walks and 2 feedings per day. At Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Guests are required to walk and exercise their pets 2 times daily.
We are going to Disney again in October, but my dad is going to take care of Sophie since she is still young. When we go again, she'll either go with us and we'll stay off property in a pet-friendly hotel and only use the kennel while at the park or we will board her overnight. The latter will only be if we can't get a pet-friendly hotel or house. I don't like the idea of boarding her overnight unless we have to.
