The difference is that the Biewer has a standard for colors and the placement of those colors but a Parti Yorkie has no standard so the colors can fall where they will. The Biewer also keeps it's long tail where the Parti tail is shortened like a standard Yorkie. Biewers have their own clubs and registries...they are not AKC...Partis are AKC but can't be shown. Biewers can be shown in rare breed venues.

All Biewers are born black/gold and white, some keep that coloring but others lighten to blue/white and tan or blue/white and gold. The Biewer will lighten and darken with age, it's amazing to watch them from puppy to adult and see the changes they go through. My girls are now 2 and they have kept their dark colors but I have recently noticed their black starting to slightly turn blue...they may go blue altogether where their black is or they may stay how they are today. Their sister and 2 brothers started out black/white and gold but are now blue/white and tan. This is no different then a Yorkie...they are all born black and gold but some lighten to silver/tan or blue/gold and some stay black/tan or black/gold.
