Hi Laura...
I'm an Army spouse of 26 years....and moved tons and tons. I have worked off and on throughout the 26 years....
Many of my friends do substitute teaching~
I have worked in the elementary school systems twice as a teachers aide..the hours are right...both times in kindergarten.
When I first was married and we lived in Germany...I worked in the Day Care and loved all the children.
Then the years my kids were growing up more..I didn't work.
You could work at a local store. One thing that my friends are doing and have encouraged me to do is buy a booth at the Cotton Exchange. They antique and yard sale...buy things..fix them ...place in their little booths and sell them. I've been to yard sales with them some..its fun...but everything comes home to my house...LOL
There is also a new Military program that many wives are applying to work at the post that their husbands are. Its called FRG assistant for Family Readiness Groups. Every Brigade has an FRG~ I work in ours as an advisor..and its a volunteer position...but there is a paid FRG assistant in most units to help with paperwork and rosters...etc...
Good Luck to you...
