We LOVE NV raw... my dogs have been on it for 5 yrs now.. I have a jack russell too and he is 7 yrs old and never had his teeth cleaned. The vet said they are still good. Also, his poop does not smell and is very small so easy pick!! his breath is fresh too!
I know it seems like its not much food but i was told that since NV is so nutritionally dense, that u do not need to feed alot of it.... Unlike kibble, there is a lot fillers so u need to feed more of it. My JR is 15 pounds and i give him 4 nuggets a day and he seems to do fine. I know the bag says to feed more but when i was feeding him 5 a day, he gained weight. He seems to be satisfied with 4 nuggets.
Since my JR sheds so much, I also add salmon oil and it has helped alot!
It does take some time for some dogs to get like it tho.... my roomates dog hated it in the beginning but now he LOVES it!!!!
Because u are dealing with raw meat, i would recommend that u use a stainless steel bowl and wash with warm water and soap after each meal.
