You could try cleaning his eyes and then put some baby powder under his eyes where it gets goopy.

Could he have an ear infection- when we first got Ryder he had one (his ears were floppy and they had hair in them). It could be a yeast build up and that is very smelly- use a Qtip and clean his ears if it is dark he most likely has an infection, take him to your vet and they will show you how to remove the hairs and run a test to find out exactly if it is yeast and help you to treat it.
