ISOFLOURENE is the name of the anesthesia you will want them to use. There is another one also being used but I don't know the name of it. Basically it is a gas as opposed to intravenous. These little ones have a lower amount of body fat and the intravenous goes through all the tissues and into the organs which is likely to cause problems. The gas does not stay in the system as long and they can give the proper amount with a lot less side affects.

I do agree it is best to have dogs spayed before their first heat but since she is so tiny I would wait until she has a little more weight on her and she was for sure full grow. That could be until she is 8 mos. That is what I was told by my vet. Also all the adult teeth should be in and they can pull any retained baby teeth.

Any procedure that you need done is best to do it all while she is under at one time if it is not too much for her little system to handle.
