I do agree with that part.
If she is spayed before her first heat, the risk of her getting mammary cancer is less than 1%. If she is spayed before her second heat it is 8%. Anytime thereafter is is 26%. IMO, she does not need to be spayed at five months though. She could come into heat, but it is very unlikely that it will be before six months.
