That is an awesome camera! More camera than I have and I take photos for a living. Mine is the 1D Mark II - less pixels but faster on the frames per minute (I think).

You won't be sorry if you get that camera but depending on your ultimate goal in photography, you might consider something a couple of notches down. It is definitely in the "pro" category of cameras.

If you do get it, you'll be very happy.

If you want alternatives, 1D Mark II, 20D, 5D

oops -- forgot to comment on the lens. Your camera will only be as good as the glass that you put in front of it. If you're going to drop that much on a camera, go for the 70-200/2.8 IS lens instead. It is pro-level and will give you much sharper images. The IS is a great feature as well.
