My 13 year yorkie is about 14 lbs

At night when he is about to fall asleep he would produce a hacking cough for a good minute or two... he'll do it in the middle of the night and just when he is laying around doing nothing.

He is otherwise very active and does not produce any cough when he is playing/running or during walks...

any ideas?
