I am new to this site. I have my girl using a cat litter box. The old kind with the lower sides. When I got her from the breeder, they had her going on paper. So I got the box and put the paper in it. I would start by getting her used to it when she started to give me those little "signs" that she needed to go. Put her in the box and say"pee" and had her stay in the box until she "peed" . I cheered her on and gave her a treat. She got the idea. Then she started to do her"bobo" -:-) in the box. She gets so excited` she know she will get a treat. I am now using newspaper pellets. They take in more liquid than just paper. It took her a few times and got used to that also. I don't have to worry about taking her out at all. If she needs to go at any time she goes to her box. She will go to the "bathroom" outside when we go on walks. But no late night runs to outside to go to the bathroom. I love the box idea for toy/small dogs. I don't have to worry about anthing getting her. Or getting her outside in time!!!!!!
