Kids have been known to give gum and candy to dogs. And, if you know dogs like I do, you will know that they are very good at going through purses and backpacks when no one is looking!
You have no idea what they eat off the sidewalk when out on a walk. Be especially careful at outdoor events such as craft fairs. | Yeah, double !! I am always reminding my kids not to give Fancy any candy and when they get their treat don't let it drop on the floor. They are really good about picking it up super fast if they drop something. Thanks for the reminder for the outdoor events - I'm taking Fancy with us to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk in a couple of weeks and they have booths set up some with candy on the tables. I will be on the look out for candy on the ground now.
