I got Fancy when she was 16 weeks and she has done just fine. I too was worried before I met her about the age but we have a very tight bond and she has the best personality. We bonded very quickly though, I took her everywhere - she was never alone by herself, she slept with me - I treated her just like I would have brought home a brand new baby (and still do ). I have had her for 8 months now and she will be 1 year on the 29th of this month. I think you will be just fine, the puppy will still bond with you and will adjust to the new home after a couple of weeks. Congrats & keep us updated.
