Oscar loves Nyla bones. He chews them until the ends are worn down and then I buy him a new one. Maybe your pup needs the durable nylabone for strong chewers. They have the flexibones which sounds like the one you have and they have durable bones which are harder. It could have caused the vomiting if a large piece came off, but basically the tiny pieces are harmless and should pass in their poop. Hopefully this helps.
