I WISH I hd an answer for you but with all 3 of mine their coat lightened and did not darken. Also, at 2 years old, I have never heard of the texture changing. At 2 years ols, he seems too old to be having texture changes but I could be wrong. Good luck... I have used hot oil treatments so maybe you could give that a try. They always add that needed shine!
