I agree with the above and would add make sure he gets out to poop after feeding.. now mine has a set thing poop am and pm and forget half hour after every meal. So if you can figure out his body clock on pooing that would help.
Also is the crate to big so that he can poop and move away. Most dogs will not poop in there beds if it is to small so he can not move away from it and just big enough to stand up turn around andlay down.
