Is there an ER vet you can call on the phone for advice, or an after-hours number for your regular vet, or poison control center? If it was one of the bad toads (we have some here called bufos) the toad releases the toxins when a dog tries to bite it. It causes the mucous membranes to foam, and it can kill the dog, depending on how much it got, size & sensitivity of dog, etc. Wash mouth out very thoroughly and watch him closely.
