I can relate and know exactly how you feel! Halle had one pup also and when we had her xray done the vet described it as ONE VERY LARGE PUPPY! Freaked me out! As it turned out, the pup was pretty large (6 3/4 ounces), but Halle had him with no problems at all. She is about 6 1/2 pounds pre-pregnancy.
Was it an xray that told you there is just one pup? How big is your female and/or how is she built? When is she due? Try not to fret; whelping a singleton pup can be done naturally. Just watch her close and if your gut tells you something is not right, take her in. Best of luck to you and Maggie.
