If you look at my avatar my babies are in a blow up boat in our pool. My daughter pulls them around. Coco and Pebbles can swim. We even have a little race. But Trix can't swim she just sinks. I think it's the tail that throws her off
I don't make them swim too long because they are only little and they get tired. They go in for a little dip then they get pulled around. They love it.
