Okay I'll start...We got humbled today We got humbled today. I found a place really close to my house rather than an hour away and I have been emailing about getting started.
Understand that although Daisy has only taken Beginner and Beginner Intermediate she was the best in the class. The others always made us go first since we were pretty sure to get it right the first time. We never practice because it is just so far, maybe 4 times in the two, 6 week courses we took. I know that we need to practice because things are only going to get harder.
(Sorry so long, I am trying to condense) So the new place does not have a beginner intermediate and I didn't know which class we should be in. This is what she said: My criteria for Intermediate classes is as follows: must have front and rear cross skills, must be able to sequence at least 10 obstacles without dog running off; must be able to do weave poles to some degree of proficiency, but they don't have to be closed (we use weave-o-matics, and the students "finish" the weaves on their own time in order to move up to the Int. classes). But you must be no more than 2 inches apart - meaning that they are close to getting it to a closed state. Also, they must have a basic 2-on 2-off on the contact obstacles.
um okay, I guess we will be in the beginner class a while longer. AND practice a couple times a week. I don't even know what some of that means!
