I have the black Alex bag. Only the top has a zipper you can close or open. The sides are mesh, you can cover the mesh with material or you can roll it back and leave the mesh out for your baby. Sometimes I'll unzip a bit of the top and let Zoe hang her out from there. Hope that helps you!
