I have a gold and white Parti-colored yorkie...my Princess Chai. She came from Black and tan parents but they carry the recessive genes for the other color. You have to remember that yorkies are a deriviative of a lot of different colored terriers and the maltese so there are other colors in the background. It is not true that these are genetic defects and they have more health issues. It is unfortunate that breeders used to kill htese pups just for being the wrong color. The tri-colors, chocolates and partis are beautiful.
This is one of the reasons that I am not entirely in agreement with the "breed standard". These so-called "off color" dogs are gorgeous, sweet and healthy and deserve a long and happy life.
Chai has 4 white feet and white on her chest and striated through her coat. I like her uniqueness.
