You have made a decision you are happy with, so that goes a long way in how well you will do. Your attitude is in the right place. I sure hope the military does not expect you to be exercising and running for a few months, because that could really hurt the outcome of your surgery and cause problems. Upper body inactivity is very important, until the doctor tells you otherwise. How long will you be in Hawaii?
